Fun at school with Maths!

Today in Maths we were learning how many tens there are in a number. We are building our place value knowledge.
We learnt that there are 10 tens in 100 and 20 tens in 200. We also know that there are 5 tens in 50, 7 tens in 74 and
6 tens in 63.
We all got to make tens using the popsicle sticks.
We then began learning how to solve addition problems by splitting numbers into place value parts.
We could add 43 + 12 as (40 + 10) + (3 + 2) = 50 + 5

Mrs Sauvarin said we did a really good job and so we got to make pictures using the maths equipment at the end.
